Keeping an eye on City’s promotion rivals

By: Matt P | February 15th, 2008

Despite going 2v0 up, Scunthorpe couldn’t prevent Stoke from moving top of the Championship after a 3v2 win. The result pushes Bristol out of the automatic spots although we do now, as do Watford, WBA and Charlton, have a game in hand over Stoke.

Later today, Charlton face Watford and West Brom take on Coventry. Bristol are at home to Crystal Palace, in front of the Sky Sports cameras, on Monday night.

Edit: My apologies; West Brom v Coventry is, of course, an FA Cup match.

Update: Watford and Charlton drew 2v2 after Danny Shittu scored at both ends for Watford who at one point were two goals behind. The result moves Watford level with Stoke on 59 points and leaves Charlton in fifth, three points adrift of WBA in fourth who have a game in hand. The result also means Bristol can go top if they beat Palace. Come on!

You appear to have forgotten about us. We have no game this Saturday, but play Southampton at St Mary’s on Tuesday. City-Palace is an intriguing fixture, especially if, as I expect, Watford beat Charlton and WBA beat Cov.

    Welcome to theoffside, btw.
